Product Description

This is an icon showing a young angry girl sitting between the sun, sky and water. Her face is the centre of a crucifix symbolic of the mission or orphanage that many children and babies were Stolen to in order to assimilate.

Garu Gabi (Quiet Water) is about how children were often bullied to keep their emotions to themselves within missions and government institutions. Part of an ongoing series since 1990 depicting members of the Stolen Generation of First Nations children in Australia.
